WHO WE ARE We are a Christ centered, Biblically focused, Simple church. We are affiliated with the Knox County Association of Baptists. We teach and partake in two ordinances: Believer'sbaptism and the Lord's supper. Our church polity is Elder led and congregationally affirmed on major decisions. We teach that a person is saved by Gracealone, through Faithalone, in Christalone and not by deeds. But the proof of Salvation (evidence of the indwelling Holy Spirit) is a believer bearing fruit!
OUR MOTTO Love God - Love Others - Make Disciples Our motto is based on: The Great Commandment: Mark 12:29-31 & The Great Commission: Matthew 29:19-20
OUR MAIN OBJECTIVE Our main objective is to love God personally and love others enough to unashamedly share the gospel with them. If someone trusts Christ, we'll help them develop their own personal, loving and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ through the daily study and application of His Word, the Bible. We call this '5x5' at our church. We will exhort you to love God and others enough to go out and do the same for them. Thereby we will abide within an unending process of discipleship.
OUR NAME The phrase 'HIS People' appears 165 times in the Bible (ESV - English Standard Version).
In the Old Testament the phrase refers to God's covenant people, Israel. In the New Testament God's mysterious plan of Salvation is revealed by Jesus Christ as a new covenant through His blood for people from every nation who are His! These chosen people, redeemed people, the people of His own possession are GOD's own people! We are HIS PEOPLE!
OUR VERSE But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may proclaim the excellences of Him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy - 1 Peter 2:9-10
