Elder - Bible Teacher
GREG NAUDE

Greg is our regular Bible Teacher-Pastor and oversees our church worship services and Bible Studies on most Sundays and Wednesdays. He was born and raised in South Africa, coming to faith in Jesus Christ during mandatory military service in that country. Before the army, he attended college at The Television Learning Academy in Randburg, working parttime as a bartender. After salvation, he travelled fulltime from Johannesburg to Cape Town and all throughout that nation sharing the gospel with the Baptist Youth of Southern Africa's Music & Drama Mission team. He later attended Seminary at The Baptist Theological College in Johannesburg.

He is married to Lucy, whom he met on the Baptist Youth Mission Team (although she was not a Baptist at the time - sneaky!) They have two sons, Alex and Benjamin born seventeen years apart. Together the Naude's have served in pastoral ministry for almost thirty years. Six years in their first pastorate in South Africa, eight years in Virginia, and the bulk of their ministry in Knoxville, Tennessee which they affectionately call home. By God's grace, they, along with a handful of families began His People Church in their living room in 2013.
Elder - Bible Teacher
DAVID LANGFORD
David is a Pastor and founding member of our church. Although he was ordained on July 17, 2022, he had been preaching and teaching for several years prior. David is a 5x5 Bible Teacher, and both preaches the sermon and leads mid-week Bible study from time to time. David is an Accountant by profession at Bechtel in Oak Ridge and serves as Treasurer of the church. He attended Pellissippi State & the University of Tennessee. David also oversees the audio/video ministry along with an array of services around the church. He is married to Donna, and they have one son, TJ.

Music Leader & Bible Teacher
PAUL SCHMUTZLER

Paul and his family came to HPC in 2017. He is an Associate Worship Leader at our church. He serves as a 5x5 Bible Teacher and is our Lead musician. He also performs several other service tasks in the church.
Paul is a graduate of Bob Jones University and is a Video Producer at Cirrus Aircraft by profession. He is married to Heidi, they have two kids, Vincent and Eva. |

JACQUES SMITH
|
Jacques is an Associate Worship Leader at our church. He is a 5x5 Bible Teacher, as well as our Associate Treasurer, and discharges various other tasks around the church. He is a Scientist by profession. He holds a MSc. in Molecular & Microbiology from the University of Pretoria, and a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of the Western Cape. Jacques is married to Daleen, and they have two Corgis named Lincoln and Ivy. Jacques and Daleen began attending His People Church in 2019, where they were both since Baptized.

Bible Teacher
LANCE IRWIN
Lance is an Associate Worship Leader at His People. He is a 5x5 Bible Teacher and serves the church through various other acts of service as well. He holds a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Tennessee and a MA in Christian Studies from Southeastern Theological Seminary. Lance has previously served on staff at a church in Maryville, TN (his hometown). Currently he is Vice President of Partnerships and Project Development at Seven States Power Corporation. He is married to Shirley, and they have two adult children, Anna & Alex and a granddaughter. Lance and Shirley began worshiping and serving at HPC in 2020. He is passionate about discipleship and serves as a key figure of our discipleship strategy at our church.

STUART BUTCHER
Stuart is an Associate Worship Leader at His People. He leads our Verse of the Month for our congregation and serves the church through various other acts of service. He has a BA in Architecture from the University of Tennessee and works as a Senior Designer at an Architect firm in town. Stuart is married to Kristi and they have three adult children, Hannah, Michael & Jonathan. His family began worshipping with us in 2019.

Ralph is a an Associate Worship Leader at our church, leading the Verse of the Month on various Sundays. He is a retired school and IT teacher. Ralph received his undergraduate degree from Clarks Summit University and his Masters of Science degree from Pensacola Christian College. He is married to Lynne and they have three adult children and eight grandchildren. Ralph and Lynne came to HPC in 2017.

HEIDI SCHMUTZLER - Director

As of January 2023, Heidi has taken on the role of Children's Director. From 2019 to 2022 she was our Children's Ministry Associate Director. She is a graduate of Bob Jones University, where she met her husband Paul. She is a Homeschool mom of two, Vincent and Eva. Always willing to help, she has a passion for people and the expansion of God's Kingdom. She and her clan came to HPC in the summer of 2017.

DONNA LANGFORD - Associate Director

Donna is our Children's Ministry Associate Director. She has been working with our Children's Ministry since 2013, way before we started holding morning services. Once we began regular morning services in 2017, she became Associate Director. From 2019 to 2022 she was Director of Children's Ministry. Donna's passion for homeschooling her son TJ overflows into her love for training up all our little ones in the gospel. She is married to David.

on a level that allows them to grasp God's truth and grow in the Lord in a fun and creative environment.

Lucy is our Ladies Bible Study Leader. She is married to Pastor Greg and is a homeschool mom. She and Greg have two sons, Alex and Ben, born 17yrs apart. She holds degrees in Education from the University of the Witwatersrand and the University of South Africa.
Lucy has a truly sincere heart after God and a deep desire to know Him through His Word. She also has a profound love for her church family. |
