Leadership Team

Greg is our Pastor and oversees our church worship services and Bible Study. He attended college at The Television Learning Academy (now: CityVarsity School of Media & Creative Arts) and Seminary at The Baptist Theological College in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Greg has been in ministry for almost 30 years, pastoring Roodepoort Baptist Church in South Africa, Garden City Baptist Church in Roanoke, Virginia and The Church at Sterchi Hills, in Knoxville, Tennessee. In 2013 he and David's family (see David below) planted our church with just a handful of other families in Greg's living room. Greg is married to Lucy (a schoolteacher - now Homeschool mom). They have two sons, Alex and Benjamin.

Brock is our song leader at His People. Growing up in the Atlanta area, he attended Toccoa Falls College with a major in Broadcast Journalism, where he met his wife, Patti, a native of Ohio. They moved to Knoxville in 1989 to start WYFC Radio for the Bible Broadcast Network (BBN), where he served as Station Manager.
In recent years Brock surrendered his career to became the primary home-caregiver to his aged father who passed away in 2020. Brock now serves as Technician, maintaining BBN's broadcasting facility. He and Patti have five children: Three adult daughters: Rachel, Rebecca & Renee and a son and daughter in school, Reid & Robyn.

Ralph is an Associate Worship Leader at our church, leading the Verse of the Month on various Sundays. He is a retired school and IT teacher. Ralph received his undergraduate degree from Baptist Bible College and his Masters of Science degree from Pensacola Christian College. He is married to Lynne and they have three adult children and eight grandchildren.

GREG NAUDE

Greg is our Pastor and oversees our church worship services and Bible Study. Originally desiring a career in Television and film production, he attended college at The Academy of Television & Screen Arts, and worked as a Bartender part-time. He was later conscripted into the Army. Whilst standing guard duty in a watchtower with a machine gun in one hand and a devotional Bible study guide in the other, he surrendered His life to Christ.
Greg attended seminary at The Baptist Theological College in Johannesburg, South Africa and has since been in ministry for over 25 years, pastoring churches in South Africa, Virginia and Tennessee. Christ began His People Church in Greg's living room in 2013.
Greg is married to Lucy and they have a teenaged son, Alex.

DAVID LANGFORD

David is a Senior Worship Leader and has been with His People Church from day one. He is a 5X5 Bible Teacher (the overview of 5 Bible chapters per week) and preaches the Sermon from time to time. He is an Accountant by profession and serves as Treasurer at the church. He attended Pellissippi State & the University of Tennessee. David also oversees the audio/video and fulfills an array of services around the church. He is married to Donna and they have one son, TJ.

PAUL SCHMUTZLER

Paul is an Associate Worship Leader at our church. He serves as a 5x5 Bible Teacher (the overview of 5 Bible chapters per week) and is our Lead musician. He also performs several other service tasks in the church.
Paul is a graduate of Bob Jones University, and has been involved in photography, film and Video production for well over a decade. He is a Video Producer at Cirrus Aircraft and is married to Heidi, they have two kids, Vincent and Eva.

JACQUES SMITH

Jacques is an Associate Worship Leader at our church. He is a 5x5 Bible Teacher (the overview of 5 Bible chapters per week), and discharges various acts of service around the church. He is a Scientist by profession. He holds a MSc. in Molecular & Microbiology from the University of Pretoria, and a PhD in Biotechnology from the University of the Western Cape. He is married to Daleen and has a Corgi named Lincoln.

LANCE IRWIN

Lance is an Associate Worship Leader at His People. He is a 5x5 Bible Teacher (the overview of 5 Bible chapters per week), and serves the church through various other acts of service as well. He holds a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Tennessee and a MA in Christian Studies from Southeastern Theological Seminary. Lance previously served on staff at Foothills Church in Maryville, TN. He works as a Director of Energy Solutions Technology with EPB based in Chattanooga and is married to Shirley. They have two adult children, Anna & Alex and one granddaughter.

STUART BUTCHER

Stuart is an Associate Worship Leader at His People. He leads our Verse of the Month for our congregation and serves the church through various other acts of service. He has a BA in Architecture from the University of Tennessee and works as a Senior Designer at an Architect firm in town. Stuart is married to Kristi with three children, Hannah (an ETSU grad and working in Interior design), and Michael and Jonathan who are both studying at Cedarville University.

RALPH SIGLIN

Children's Ministry Leaders

DONNA LANGFORD

Donna is our Children's Ministry Director. She has been working with our Children's Ministry since 2013. In 2017 she became Associate Director and as of 2019 she now heads up Kids ministry as Director of Children's Ministry. Donna's passion for homeschooling her son TJ overflows into her love for training up all our little ones in the gospel. She is married to David.

Heidi is our Associate Children's Director. She is a graduate of Bob Jones University, where she met her husband Paul. She is a Homeschool mom of two middle-schoolers. Always willing to help, she has a passion for people and the expansion of God's Kingdom.

HEIDI SCHMUTZLER

Our Children's Directors oversee a team of 10 teachers who guide our children through the Bible
on a level that allows them to grasp God's truth and grow in the Lord in a fun and creative environment.

Bible Study Leaders

LUCY NAUDE

Lucy is our Ladies Bible Study Leader. She is married to Pastor Greg and is a homeschool mom to their son, Alex. She holds degrees in Education from the University of the Witwatersrand and the University of South Africa.
Lucy has a truly sincere heart after God and knowing Him through His Word, and loves her church family deeply.

Greg is our Pastor and Men's Bible Study Leader.
Greg enjoys expository teaching (reading a passage of the Bible and explaining it verse by verse. He is married to Lucy.
